I combine public information, field observations, conversations with people familiar with the land, and electrical resistivity surveying to identify and assess potential groundwater targets.
Recommendations are independently reviewed and based on the combined weight of the evidence.
1. INVESTIGATE
RESEARCH
The investigation begins before I arrive.
I learn about your property using publicly available records, including topography, geology, water history and nearby wells. This gives me the context I need before stepping onto the property.
2. SITE VISIT
WALK THE PROPERTY
You know your property. I want to hear what you've noticed.
We walk the site and look for things maps can't tell us—where the big cedars and birch grow, where the ground doesn't freeze, where grass stays green during dry weather, springs, wet areas and other clues.
I also use dowsing as a reconnaissance tool to help narrow the area of interest. Then the fun part: we bring those clues together and decide where to lay down the first survey line.
SURVEY and INTERPRET
I use ELECTRICAL-RESISTIVITY to measure electrical response/resistivity expression.
Electrical Resistivity Survey
One or more 25-metre survey lines are completed using electrical resistivity equipment. Small electrode holes (approximately 8 inches deep) are drilled at one-metre intervals and temporarily marked with water-based marking paint.
Assessment and Exploration Tier Service.
A full-grid electrical resistivity survey is three parallel lines, 1m apart.
3. VERIFY
INTERPRET — Bring the evidence together.
We compare the survey data with what we know about the property rather than relying on a single measurement.
The survey data and profile maps are submitted to the PQWT user group for independent review.
